For some reason or another, it seems that any time we fool around or have sex she get's an infection or SOMETHING. Also, sex is always painful for her every single time and never feels good for her whatsoever. Needless to say, this has completely destroyed our sex life.

She has gone to the doctor for her infections a couple of times. Once they even said that they didn't even find anything like an infection, but they would just give her medication for the infection anyways. She always seems to act like it doesn't really get better. Essentially, she doesn't have medical insurance so she's afraid to have them do tests and figure out why she keeps getting infections.

At the same time, she seems to be a little bit on the hypochondriac side and I wonder if maybe she just thinks she still has infections when she doesn't.

I don't know. Any advice? Can anyone help?

Like yeast infections?

Some women get small yeast infections after sex. Sometimes these infections can go away on their own and that could be why the doctors didn't catch it.

She might want to look into preventing yeast infections before sex. So wearing loose clothing, cotton underwear, fully drying off after showers or swimming, using unscented soaps... stuff like that. Applying a yeast infection cream, like Monistat, after sex could also help.

Do you use condoms?

When you do have sex, have her go to the bathroom right after. Many women are suseptible to infections, and urinating cleans the urethra and vaginal area for infections. This helps prevent bladder infections and sometimes yeast.

What kind of condom? Does it have spermicide on it? That can SERIOUSLY mess with a vagina. It can actually cause a yeast infection in many women.

If she doesn't have medical insurance, a good way to ward off yeast infections is drink cranberry juice. In college, I used to get yeast infections regularly while living in the dorms. But, I started drinking it with every meal and it helped. There are also over the counter pills called AZO that help prevent yeast infections. I used to pop those like candy too.

And yes...what kind of infections is she getting?
