I have this problem with self-mutilation and about a year ago i was playing more with needles more than razors and ended up with a major infection NF (flesh eating infection). Last night I was not in the best place and did it again. I now have 5 very painful red rash like sores on both arms from injecting medications in my arm again =( I am hoping this is cofidential I just need to know if I should go to my nearest emergency room to make sure I did not do and major damage as I did last time. It was stupid I do know this and I do know I need help. I just need to know what I can do now. Should I just wait and see if the redness spreads or should I go get them checked right away. My biggest fear is telling the doctor that sees me what I did as I don't want to be locked away this is my first relapse with playing with needles since my accident in may of 08.

GO TO THE ER!
GO TO THE DR!! Just go! Even though they may be inquisitive. I realize, as a cutter myself, that the whole "doctor" situation is really awkward, but I'd really hurry over to the ER. What it you're allergic to the meds you used?
GOOD LUCK and HUGS!!

Mental health problems are real, painful and sometimes severe. If you are doing reckless things that could hurt you, then you really need treatment from a professional, which might include some type of rehab treatment.
Psychiatric hospitalization may or may not be recommended...but to get help, you need to let go of control and follow directions.

Here's more info on Psychiatric evaluations so that you can know what to possible expect.

Do you exhibit other behavior or emotional problems? Is the self cutting/injecting the only thing that you keep to yourself?

In order to understand and start taking actions to prevent self-injury, you can start by becoming aware of which situations are likely to trigger your urge to hurt yourself. Then, make a plan for what you will do instead of cutting or injecting when you feel this urge.

Mental health problems can be treated. To find help, talk to your parents, school counselor or health care provider.

Go to a doctor Straight away.
Go to a doctor straight away. since u have a histor of necrotic fascitis and thats not an easy infection to bring under control and usually requires debreidement.
Go to a doctor and follow up with some counselling for your self.
