Q: Infection causing late period ?

I generally don't worry this much, especially since I don't possess any of the symptoms of a pregnancy except back pain and abdominal cramping. However, my period is 6 days late. For the past day or so I have had some minor abdominal cramps that I generally get a few days before my period starts, but nothing. Also I have noticed an increase in discharge. I have had an increase of stress lately and just spent a few days on the ocean. I know sometimes a change in atmosphere, stress etc... can change your cycle. I don't "feel" pregnant but I was wondering if I should be worried of something else. I have this fear because my oldest sister was just diagnosed with cervical cancer... could an infection cause me to be so late?

I don't have any soreness in my breasts nor an increase in urination. I've been really thirsty lately though... think I may be dehydrated, that made me late last year. the last time i had unprotected sex was a few weeks ago.
