Q: Infected with HPV

So I had a gf of a year however we split up a while ago due to complications etc, Ive had no sex since and been with my current gf for 5 months. Everything is great with her, we aint slept together yet (Want to wait longer) and we are completely in love, going to see the Northern Lights soon with her.
However, My ex contacted me a few weeks ago telling me she had the HPV, I was devastated as I know I'm now at risk of infection.
How do I go about this to my current girlfriend? Im frightened she will leave me over it. Its causing me so much stress! What if I end up staying with her forever and we tried for a baby? Would I have to infect her then? Is there any cure to rid of the virus?

Please, it just feels like my life is over right now due to this

Extremely eHealthy
first of all, hpv is human papilloma virus...it only affects women..men carry it but have no symptoms and it never affects them *EXCEPT* if the hpv is the strand that has been linked to genital warts..and then of course that will be obvious...there are MANY strands of this virus but it is NOT curable...there are no cures for viruses...SOME strands have been linked to cervical cancer and some strands are minor and the girl may get an abnormal pap smear once or twice and then the virus just sort of goes away on its own and remains dormant(meaning there are no symptoms at all and her paps come out normal)...has your current gf been vaccinated by guardasil? this supposedly helps prevent 4 of the strains that have been linked to cervical cancer..which would be a good idea to get(some may argue about this)..its a series of 3 shots she needs to get...also..for now if you guys decide to do anything you should probably stick to condoms...do you still talk to your ex regularly? if so, you might wanna ask her a few questions about it...just so you are well informed and can try to protect your current gf...its good you care so much..hope i helped

Are you sure you it is not possible to rid the virus completely? I've researched into it a lot and some sources say it has been completely eradicated by the Immune System, my gf has also recieved Vaccination against it also.

I've been drinking a lot of water and making sure to get my 5-a-day since I was aware I could have HPV.
