Q: Infant's BMI
asked by: DoctorQuestion on August 7th, 2008
This is for my toddler not me.
She is Guatemalan and tiny. Her birth mother was only 4'9"
My daughter is now 32 months, 35 inches long andn 21.5 pounds
She was born healthy and of average weight for Guatemalan girls
I would like to know if her weight is healthy
She seems healthy but she is thin
She eats well but is very active
She is happy and SMART...of course I'm her mother (smile)

Thank you for your help.

According to my calculations, your daughter's BMI is 12.1 which means she is underweight.

You may want to consult a pediatrician for a second opinion.
