You should NEVER induce labor unless a doctor recommends that you try to "speed things up". Most doctors agree that safe ways to induce labor are always done past 37.5 weeks, and include sex, walking, nipple stimulation, and plenty of fluids, such as juice, water and milk. DO NOT take cod-liver oil or any herbal substances as these can cause major complications as well as havoc your body. But please consult your doctor before you do anything to induce yourself.

why would you like to speed things up?
why not let the baby decide when he/shes ready? Usually labor and birth go much smoother if the baby and your body decided on its own.

Theres always more room for complications and delays when you force something thats so natural. And yes always consult the doctor first.

I had my son at 41 weeks and he did great.

i just walked and rocked back and forth. I did a lot of stretching too. I also used the birth pool. I think the warm water made my water break. He was born only 4 hours after I got into the water.

But my labor still lasted 72 hours so...not much help here...lol

good luck and hang in there...you are almost there!
