Q: incorrect diagnoses

I have been going through testing since 2002. In March of that year, I got very sick. I had mouth sores that the ER never saw before. They chalked it up to stress, dehydration, lack of sleep, ect. due to me having twins 4 months prior. I have symptoms of 5 different diseases and luckily all come back negative. Here are my symtoms: brisk reflexes, numbness especially when sleeping, muscle stiffness, lack of stregnth in lower extremities, pain in ankles (as if they were sprained) (I wear braces so that my ankles don't twist when I walk), neck stiffens every night-with or without a pillow or 2- shaking of hands, All tests show normal. I have been seeing people at the Cleveland Clinic. Now after all bloodwork and every other work up they do has come back normal, it's making me feel like I am going insane because they can't figure it out. The Doc. there says all they really can do is treat the symptoms. However, I have pretty much taken everythng and nothing works. I am in pain now and it is at least an 8. My achyness and tiredness is above a 10. At first the original doctors wanted to chalk it up to depression. But, I am not depressed. Stressed yes, but I know the difference. I am very happy with myself and how my life is turning around. Plus, when all this started, I wasn't depressed either. I know that there is no REAL Doctor like "House", but all these tests coming up negative is making me look like I'm nuts. It's also making me feel crazy. What else can I do????

I have been watching a lot of programing on the discover health channel and I notice that it can take some people years without knowing what their problem is, the best you can do is research on the internet the symptoms you have and make appointments with various doctors in different specialties so you get a wider range of tests to find out what is wrong.

Don't give up, keep trying and take care of yourself.

You need to get a 2nd opinion. You can't take one Dr's word when they are not finding what is wrong. Like said before do some research and get appointments with Dr's the specialize in those areas. Good luck and hope things start to look up! Congrats on the little ones~

Is there a weight issue at all? I know it sounds like a dumb question but ALOT of times it can cause the pain and discomfort in the feet, ankles, back, etc.
