Hi there,

I was diagnosed with Incomplete Bowel Disorder 2 months ago. I have been to the GP and have had X-rays taken. My Personal GP put me on Suppositories. It worked fine the first few days. Thereafter it started again. I could not relieve myself completely thereafter. I was told to increase the Fibre in my diet and starting having Hi-Fibre cereals and drinking fresh orange juice. That had worked well for about 2-3 days. I felt complete relief. As of yesterday, it started again. I have taken another Suppository but that did not releive me completely. I have also lately been suffering from alot of Gas/Flatulance build up. Initially when it started, i kept relieving myself of the gas build up. Today i am experiencing a build up of alot of Gas but do not feel the need to releive myself. Its a very uncomfortable feeling and i experience a loss of appetite. Please advise as to what i can do to get my system working properly again. Your assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

I think that you mean "Irritable Bowel Syndrome." Unfortunately, this is a difficult problem to manage. In most cases, improving the fiber content of your diet will help to decrease the symptoms. Also, keeping a diary of the foods that you eat, and the associated severity of your symptoms, may help you to adjust your diet, and to eliminate foods that cause increased gas problems (also, just like some foods, some fiber supplements, like psyllium, are more prone to generating increased gas).
