Q: inability to take a deep breath

I have pain radiating from my neck into my chest over the right bronchus. I have had this intermittently over several years. When I have the pain it is always very difficult to take a deep breath. I am not breathless and am generally in good health.I put this all down to irritation of the cervical nerve roots. Can you offer any advice?
