Hello doctor

good day!hope you are well and everything is fine!

we are here to consult about the present problem we are undergoing.

we are in uk since july 2008 and trying to have baby.though we tried several times we were not able to have the same.our infertility specialist after performing laparoscopy with dye and hsg test confirmed that both of her fallopian tubes are blocked due to adhesion.he suggested to go for ivf procedure to be pregnant.

as per all the tests performed on us, there are no abnormality except sperms are having low motility.

we are eager to know what are the success rates in ivf in this situation and the possible side effects during the treatments.

expecting your full co-operations,

best regards
debasis

Hi ,

Welcome to the ehealthforum and I am glad to help you out. In vitro fertilisation (IVF) is a process by which egg cells are fertilised by sperm outside the womb. IVF is quite successful now because of the improvements in the procedure.

In 2006, Canadian clinics reported an average pregnancy rate of 35%. This depends on many factors like the age, general and reproductive health of the mother, the way the procedure is done and lifestyle and environmental factors. The side effects of this procedure are multiple births, increased risk of pregnancy loss, obstetrical complications, prematurity and birth defects. You should discuss all this in detail with the fertility expert before going in for this procedure.

I must admit that it’s not possible to make an online diagnosis as a physical examination is required for the same. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
