OK, the last time i posted here was almost a year ago when i had sex with my boyfriend then.

Now, it's been a while and we're still using condoms. We try to avoid having sex since we really don't want a child (I am still 17). We are planning on getting married after I graduate but it would still take a lot of years before that day comes.

One of the reasons why we end up doing it is lack of self control.. we are working out on it, though, and we are almost successful.

We had sex twice last month (after abstinence of about 8 months or so) this got me paranoid again.

I know that even with the proper use of condoms, there is still at least 1% chance that i would get pregnant.

Now, I had this VERY light bleeding last week when i should be having my period. It was so light that panty liners were enough to hold it for hours. The color varies from dark red to brown.

I think it lasted for about 5 days then.

This made me uneasy so i searched the net about it and found out about "implantation bleeding" but i still don't know if this one if that or just a light period.

I had a urine pregnancy test the day the bleeding stopped and the result was negative but im still not very convinced (or maybe just paranoid)

I do not have any other pregnancy symptoms aside from this. I do feel mild abdominal cramps though.

Thank you very much for your help!

That was probably your period.

Your period isn't always going to be the same. Its good to know whats normal for you, but given that you had bleeding for 5 days (implantation bleeding doens't last that long and really not a lot of women get it) and you got a negative pregnancy test. It doesn't sound like you're pregnant.

But given that you're worried about it, and don't trust the urine tests, I suggest you get a blood test done at the doctors office. It is very accurate.

i don't know any doctor and i can't go take just another test...

i had to take the test in a mall restroom that time since i really can't let my parents know...

but do you really think it is my period???

and by the way, i am quite irregular. most of the time i get delayed for half a month up to two months.

I wasn't worried then because i know i didn;t do anything.. but this time.... it kinda makes me worried (but not as much as before...)

You can go to a planned parenthood and they will be able to give you the test.

I think its your period, but I figure you'll still worry about it until you know for sure.

Have you considered birth control pills to help regulate your period? You can even ask your mom about it since you have a reason other than sex for taking the pills.

i think my mom would get freaked out if i tell her i want to go on pills...

but anyway... your words have somehow cooled me down. im not so worried anymore... I'll just wait for my relatively normal period for now. I hope me and my boyfriend would be able to stop having sex before marriage....

Your reasoning would have nothing to do with sex, I'm actually suggesting pills to regulate your periods rather than protection against pregnancy. Wink

If you don't want to have sex before marriage, then why do you?
