Can Implantation bleeding last for 8 days? I had spotting (brownish red) 18 days after my last menstrual period and it went on 5 days, although it did not last the whole day. just instances that i find a slight brownish red color which looks like implantation bleeding to me. it stopped after the 5th day but here it is again on the 8th day. i read a lot about implantation bleeding lasting only for about 2 to 3 days, but can it last for 8 days? i have been trying to get pregnant for 4 yrs now. had my fertility check ups in June and i stopped seeing my OB gyne in October. i was wondering if this is indeed implantation bleeding or do i need to worry about other things?

Welcome to ehealthforum.
Few women can have continued spotting once in a while after implantation bleeding during the first few weeks of pregnancy which can be attributed to hormonal changes. If pregnancy is suspected, then it should be confirmed by examination done by gynecologist/obstetrician along with a blood beta HCG level test.
Report your symptoms to your treating doctor. Look out for other symptoms suggesting early pregnancy like: fatigue, nausea, constipation, increased sleep, hunger and tiredness, mood changes, headaches, back pain, lower abdominal cramps, increased frequency of urine, breast soreness, nipple sensitivity.
