I have recently had implanon removed after 3.5yrs. I was having difficulty with mood swings, headaches and lack of libido, and I noticed that on the 18th of every month for a little while before removal I felt like I was having a period without actually bleeding. I want to concieve again, should I go off this date to predict ovulation or do I just have continious intercourse in the meantime in hope I am ovulating now? I am yet to have a period as I have only just removed the implant. I had no bleeding while I had the implant, just irregular spotting when I was stressed.

Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum,
Consider waiting for your periods after removal of Implanon before you start with your pregnancy plans. Monitor ovulation with checking cervical mucus changes and the BBT (basal body temperature) charting to predict your ovulation and time your intercourse for having fruitful results. Keep lying still for sometime after intercourse (do not change positions after ejaculation has occurred). Put pillows under buttocks to minimize spill. Have intercourse in positions that allow for deeper penetration for high deposit of semen. Have diet with foods rich in zinc content to ensure better maturation of egg and sperms. For further evaluation and assistance, visit your gynecologist/obstetrician.
Take care.
