I think the point of some birth control is to trick your body into thinking your already pregnant which is why many women gain wieght and get the munchies, feel more tired then usuall ect... all symptoms of pregnancy but also symptoms of birth controll... The implanon is a different form of hormone... in fact I don't think it is a hormone at all so its effects can be worse... No worries at 99% effective chances are no ones getting knocked up and you can't get a false negative on a test from the implanon...

Same symptoms
OkI have read every post on here & it seems we all have the same symptoms. I have had my implant in since sept 08, I have had the tiredness, the moodiness, the headaches..but recently I have had the achey boobs & the cravings and the flutters in the belly! I have had my period every month right on schedule as normal even the last one! I have never actually felt pregnant until now! I know it's a 1 in 100 chance for the 1st year (if you read the fine print) but does this mean it's more likely the longer you have it in? I have had it for 2 yrs 5 months, I'm not due for another period for 3 more weeks so I guess we will see? Best of luck to you all!

in the 1st year!
99.9% effective, and it also says only 1 of 100 women (in the 1st year)!!!! Does this mean its less effective after the 2nd & 3rd year? Why would they only test 1 year in a 3 year birth control!

I'm the same I only got it 3 weeks ago but a few hours after it was inserted I was throwing up
And just over the last few days I've been getting mor nauseas wanting to sleep and eat all the time which is unusual for me cause normally I hardlys ever feel hungry
I think it might be a bad side effect of the implanon but if it is then I would not recommend anyone getting it

Can anyone give me any help here??

I've had my second implant out 5yrs i've had them in, in total. My husband and I decided to have this one removed in Feb 2011 as we would like a second child.

I experienced no bleeding at all for almost the whole 5 yrs which I thought was great! until i'm trying for a baby.
Early days yet but I was told within 7 days of having my implant removed id have a period, several weeks later and i've only just had my period today, small spotting nothing heavy. So gather i'm not pregnant, i have also took two tests before period and nothing, only with my first child i took 3 and negative only i was 9 weeks gone!

Anyone had any problems conceiving after having it removed?

I was caught straight away after a miscarriage with my daughter who is now 5yrs old. Wondering if the implant can slow down my egg count or so how delay getting pregnant??

Any help would be wonderful, it's horrible waiting and wanting something and knowing it could take months, if not over a year!

Kind Regards.

How'd you go ms_dd_2009?
I'm having the same issues right now... am on my second Implanon - had my first for 4 years, and got a new one 4 months ago. Two weeks ago I started getting nausea, firstly in the morning, now it comes & goes all day. I don't have any other symptoms of any sickness. I also have increased sense of smell. Everyone including my doc thinks I'm PG even though 3 HPT have been negative. I've been for blood tests today to double check for pg & also to see if the nausea is being caused by something else. I'll have the results in a week.

Implanon only works for 3 years. If you are pregnant, it's because of that last year.

Hey im the same way, i got Implanon almost 2 years ago and all went well until 1-2 months ago. I never have spotting, cramps....nothing, however now, i have been having spotting that would last a weeks and go away for a couple of day and then come back for about a week. Now when i wipe, i have a lot of mucus down there. Every time i wipe, i have this mucus that is long and more less white a cloudy and at times a very light pink...kinds samony color. I just had sex a months ago for the first time in 7 months, so im kinda worried that i might be pregnant. I got on here to see if anyone has had false positives to see if i can do hpt or if i should go in to the doc. I have been getting dizzy for months now, just out of nowhere. Im starting to get tired and not wanting to do anything, but i think that is more about gaining a little weight. Just hang in there, i keep asking my mother, (OB/GYN) and she says that im fine, but i think it's a quick way out.

That sounds like a yeast infection. It can be sexually transmitted, but it can also come from certain foods (like yogurt) or from antibiotics.

could be prego?
I have had the implanon for 18 months and for the first didn't have a period or spotting then it was constant bleeding. But it stopped about 3weeks ago. I have been having prego signs for the last few weeks and my stomach is hardening.. I seen something about if you get prego on implanon then something will probably go wrong. Is this true? I already have 2 kids and I know the signs and this all feels too familiar.

Second Implanon much different than first
I just had my second implanon inserted mid December 2010. My first one was perfect. I had a little spotting in the beginning but I had full healthy regular periods, no weight gain, no cramps, and my migraines greatly improved. Well, I've had my second one in for 4 months exactly now and my breasts hurt so bad, I'm bloated, I've had an insane appetite, nausea, constipation, etc... So I was just wondering how likely it would be for me to be pregnant. This implanon hasn't been the same as the first because Ive had very irregular bleeding. Does this sound like it could have been put in wrong?

I have had my implanon since November 2008. Earlier this year is when I started experiencing the pain in the stomach, drowsiness, sleepiness back pains and etc. I have taken like 5 home pregnancy tests and they all were negative. I have not had any bleeding since January 2010. Should I get a blood pregnancy test done?
