Please help! We live in the midwest and need the name of a dermatologist who specializes in female hair loss. My daughter has idiopathic anaphylaxis and a hx. of a rare tumor when she was a toddler. Thyroid function OK, diet is good, no protein or iron deficiency, runs 3 miles a night, does chew her nails but has since childhood, takes antihistamines prn, hair loss has been going on for at least 6 months and probably longer.
I need to find my daughter help ASAP. The dermatologist we have seen gave no definite diagnosis, and basically threw a shotgun approach; Minoxicil 5%, fluocinolone cream and Nizoril shampoo. My daughters hair has never been cut but she has always been careful to never restrain it tightly. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
