Q: Identity Crisis

A gal pal of mine was asking an opinion, she accidentally blurted out her officemates name while doing the deed with her boyfriend. It's not that she had an affair with him but he just piss her off from time to time. And she complains about him too much which I guess brought to the point of calling her officemate. Now, the problem is that her boyfriend got mad and wouldn't believe her excuse. Can anyone give their perspective on this?

Freud would say that subconsciously, she desires her co-worker and that is why she said his name during sex. I am prone to agree. Some people say love and hate are two sides of the same coin. I believe intense dislike and passion are two sides of the same coin (in cases involving people of the opposite sex.) Perhaps she dislikes this man but finds herself attracted to him, which makes her dislkie him even more. I once had a co- worker that bedeviled me at every opportunity. I hated his personality but I was very attracted to him for some reason. Everything he did made me angry and I complained about him all the time. Then someone said, "The lady doth protest too much," quoting Shakespeare. I then realized how much my passion/ lust for him had tranformed into passion/ dislke for him.
Is your friend attracted to the man in any way?

Thanks, deteragam! I kinda thought she was attracted to him as well. I guess sometimes the subconscious mind can often do some tricks in our thoughts.

Oh, no. She and her boyfriend broke up? I'm sorry to hear that. I had hoped that the two of them could get past this. You're a very supportive friend.

She's trying to make him understand. The guy just wanted a time off for a while. She said he wanted time to think.
