i took a test in feburary but right after i started my period i havent taken a test since i just dont know whats going on. i dont know if a pregnacy test will detect anything or if i just need to go and get a blood test. im getting more and more symptoms everyday please halp!!!!!!!!!!!!!! should i just bite the bullet and to a test or wait and go to the doctor?

If you're having pregnancy symptoms, why wouldn't a pregnancy test be positive? If you think you're pregnant, you should definitely test.

There should be places in your community where you can get free pregnancy testing, or you can request a blood test from your doctor if you're nervous that a urine test won't be accurate.

We're in May now.
You should go to a doctor to get a blood test done.
But try a pregnancy test first with the first morning urine.
You'd be 4 months late now, a positive sign would show up and if not go right to the doctors office.

She is not four months late. She's had two periods recently.

okay so i took a test yesterday evening and it said that i wasn't pregnant but i still am unsure because i have this gut feeling that i am.i'm so confused. so i took one of those ovulation testing things that tells you when your most fertile and it showed that i was ovulating which is weird because i just got off of a period {i think} so can you be ovulating if you just had a period or can you ovulate when you are pregnant? what am i supposed to do?

I think you should do some research on how your cycle works, what ovulation and periods mean. It sounds like you aren't entirely sure or you are coming off as sounding that way.

There is no possible way you can ovulate while your preg. When you get preg. your body has already had an egg fertalized(sp) so it stops releasing eggs. I agree with ingi and krystine, You need to research your cycle...and call your dr. to get info.

the reason i am asking these questions is because i am unsure about this stuff. i dont know that is the reason i am asking for advice i dont really have anyone to talk to so om sorry if i sound ignorant i just would like to know and any advice given is greatly appreciated and will be taken seriously. so i guess im not pregnant but something is going on so i will be contacting my doctor asap.

The home pregnancy test is pretty accurate. Of course, it can always be wrong, but I have heard they are very accurate. Even 24 and 21 years ago they showed positive with me, and it was accurate. A baby boy (24) and a baby girl (21). So, I would expect them to be even more accurate now!

AND..............don't feel ignorant - we all have questions about things, that is why we are on this forum - to help each other out. How old are you? Have you ever had a PAP test done or a pelvic exam? There is nothing to it - piece of cake!

thanks Eeyore i was feeling really discouraged these last few days. i still am not feeling like my self and i should be on my period right now but i guess since i had 2 last month that is the reason why but if i don't have on this month I'm going to take another test and see what happens i also am making a doctors apt this week. i am 23 ill be 24 this year. i don't want to talk to my mom about this stuff cause i don't want her to be mad or disappointed in me should i take another test in a couple of weeks or just wait and see what happens

Why would she be mad or disappointed in you - are you not married? If you really think you are, try another home pregnancy test. I suggest you see a doctor and ease your mind about what is going on. Whether you are or not, you need to see why you are feeling like you do and why your periods are irregular. Have you been on any kind of birth control or are you trying to get pregnant?
