Q: I need your opinions on my conception date!!

The first day of my last period was on April 23, 2009. It lasted a full five days. The guy I was dating and I were having sex pretty regularly (unprotected) and he ALWAYS pulled out....that doesn't count out pre-ejaculation though. This was throughout the end of April and the first week of May. Things weren't working out, and he was being a jerk, so I stopped seeing him. THEN, the guy whom I've had very strong feelings for, for quite a while, asked me to give him another chance. We had sex again, for the first time since the beginning of the year, on May 16th-20th (unprotected and without pulling out). My period was due on the 24th of May. I took a ( /-) test every day for the next three days and they were all negative. I took a digital test on that Thursday and it said that I am pregnant. I haven't been able to get in to see a dr. yet, but I have an appt made for next Tuesday. I was wondering if anybody could help me make sense of this?! Both guys know the whole story. And both want to be there to help if it turns out to be theirs. I know that a paternity test is the only "for sure" way to know. But I was hoping to hear from some of you who may be able to help ease my mind a little bit. This is SO HARD! Please help!

Well, you wouldve been ovulating from the 7th-9th more than likely. So I doubt it was the guuy you slept with around the 16th. But you never really know. How long before you had sex with him did you have sex with the guy before. Was it ont he 7th 8th or 9th?

I had my last period April 24th. Very close to yours, and I found out I was pregnant about May 28th. My conception date was May 9th. That was the date we had sex. And ended up being my ovulation day! So I would think your date is right around mine! and if you are pregnant, we would be due date buddies =]

Everyones ovulation day is diffrent,I know every one thinks its 14 after day 1 of your cycle but that is wrong it is always 14 days before you get your period the reason doctors use a 28 day cycle to predict your edd is because most womans cycles are between 26-34 days so they will never be too far wrong but they are hardly ever spot on as you will see when you go for a scan if your cycle is ussually the exact same amount of days each month the just count 14 days from when your period should have been,if you dont have the same amount then your never really going to get an accurate date but it will be within a few days once youve had a dating scan

Ok...I was thinking that it would be around the 10th. My cycle used to be very sporadic, but all this year it's been exactly every 31 days. Which would have made my period due again on the 24th of May. So 14 days before that would make it on the 10th...right? HONESTLY.....with the dates that I've given.....do you think that it's vital to have a DNA test....or will the ultrasound dates be enough to let me know which one is the father?? The second guy wants a paternity test either way, which I agreed to of course, he has that right. The first guy wants to be there and is convinced it's his and doesn't think a test is necessary. I'm excited about the pregnancy, but disappointed in myself for not being more careful and preventing this situation from happening the way it did. I just want to make everything right ya know?

My due date has changed about 4 times with every different calculator I've used. All I'm sure about at this point is that it'll be around the end of January or the beginning of February. I can't wait until the 30th when I have the ultrasound done....hopefully it'll ease my mind a little more. Thanks for the replies.

Ok so the thing thats bothering me about this is it took you 4 days after you missed your period to get a positive test and whilst this isnt uncommon it happens to me everytime lol.It does mean that theres a good chance it could be the second mans,although the first guy is the more likely father.If i were you for your own piece of mind i would do a dna test that way you can tell your child for sure and you wont have to go through getting one when your littleones older,if the first guy refuses just test the baby and the second guy that way if he isnt you'll know its the other one.Also this scan your going to have will be much more accurate with the dates,and dont feel bad these things happen we are only human,im sorry i cant be more help good luck Smile
