If she had an operation in just after Christmas then she should be able to get up and get around a little, depending on what kind of operation she had.

All you need to do is be there for her. Be kind and patient. Make suggestions for pleasant outings, nothing too stressful. Even maybe just a walk around the block for some fresh air with you if she is able will do a lot of good to get her started to feeling better. Being down after an operation is very hard. Not only is it a strain on the body to go through an operation and recover, just being indoors all the time makes for a very sad person.

If you can't get her out, open the window and curtains for sunlight and air. The sun is an anti-depressant, and just having those two things might make her feel a little better and want to get around. I know they do me.

I hope she feels better soon.
