Stay open minded. Take everything in and what every they think is moral. I thought I was pro-life until I educated myself on EVERYTHING. Now I know not every pro-choicer is pro-abortion, they just accept it and are happy that woman can make choices for themselves.
I would raise my kids to make up their OWN mind on what side of the abortion debate they want to be. It can be pro-choice, pro-life, mostly pro-choice, mostly pro-life, in the middle, no opinion, etc.

That's what open minded means. I couldn't have said it better, and couldn't agree more.

If/When I choose to have kids, they will be allowed to decide for themselves just like I was. Obviously I won't hide my own feelings on the subject but that's a personal matter. I'm glad we're all on the same page here

Thank you, like Lily said, you couldn't have said it better.

"You can always personally be pro-life but have pro-choice views!!!"
That would totally be me! Don't you think? Children are going to grow to beleive what they want to beleive. You can voice your opinion but you should not force it. I just pray that I've instilled it in my children to make choices for themselves not rely on someone else to.

My mother is the same way, I really appreciate her for being open with us to a certain degree, she doesnt believe in birth control but now she does, so she has changed her ways...
I just wanted to say I have alot of respect for you anniek, as a pro-lifer you really make it look good!

Thank you very much. I've said before the extremist don't get anything any where. Some get awful! Which I don't understand they going against what they are preaching. I am honest about things. I don't agree most the time with abortions but I do agree with a womens health and knowledge. There is a difference.
So thank you again!

Yes big difference...
I have to agree though, education foremost, if everyone used the pill as directed half of us wouldnt be in that situation or if we took the morning after pill.
What are your feelings on Plan B?
Knowledge is very important, with me I was taking the pill but I wasnt informed that my other medications lessened the effect, kind of a bummer but I had a unplanned one lol. Now I know but it would have been nice to know beforehand!

Plan B is pretty much like BC. It's just a stronger dose. It does not abort a pregnancy it attempts to stop it before happening. If a sperm does not come in contact with the egg it is not a pregnancy or if the egg never implants. This is what bc and plan b do the prevent the pregnancy. I work in a pharmacy and have learned alot about what bc actually does. You would have to take a very large amount of bc or plan b to abort a pregnancy. I went 2 months taking bc and was pregnant. I didn't know. I had taken it like I was supposed to but was the small percent the happened to get pregnant. Oh well I would never trade him for anything!
You are so correct in knowledge! There are so many people that are not educated on such things. We try very hard in our pharmacy to let people know you need to take this like this, or this drug may make bc less effective, or even telling them if the have any question on it to call and ask us. We would rather take the time to expain then have something happen.

diamondsz, you're absolutely right in that people need to be educated, and it's not only the patient, doctors and pharmacists as well. My doctor would regularly prescribe me both my BC pills and an antibiotic and NEVER once mentioned how BC pills can be rendered useless by them. Even the pharmacists that filled out my prescriptions kept a tight lip on the dangers of not using back-up protection when taking pills that can affect BC. I'm glad Annie's pharmacy tries hard to warn people about this, and this kind of stuff really needs to become common knowledge.

Excellent post once again, diamondsz! I will teach my children that women have the right to control their own bodies every bit as much as men do, and that equals pro-choice!

Why? You don't let grown women make their own decisions.

This is so typical of conservative prolife advocates; 1. because it didn't happen to me, it's a lie and 2. Respond not to the subject but make some inane comment to beat away reality.

What do you mean "why"? Apparently, you like to stereotype. I bet you think ALL kinds of things about me. Yet, you probably whine about it happening to you. Tell me, what else do you assume about me? I'd like a laugh!

I believe in letting youngsters form their own opinions, as long as they're educated opinions. I would point out the differences in pro-choice and pro-life stances and let them make up their own minds as they grow up. Of, course, a forum like this is a good place to hear all the arguments for and against both sides.

Great point!!!
Educated opinions should be in highest regards!

I will assume that you aren't a stickler for details. I was responding to antrise's comment. There's your laugh. Enjoy.
Your prolife advocacy is plastered all over the board. That means that you do not want grown women to make their own decisions. So why would you let your children?

You said:"Why? You don't let grown women make their own decisions" responding to MY comment. I responded back by saying that you must like to stereotype. I said that because you assume I can't POSSIBLY have an open mind and be prolife at the same time because you appear to think pro-lifers all just want to control women.

The irony is that you claim I assume this and that, and then make assumptions of me. I tire of these games.
