I have been overweight all of my life and I have also been on a diet most of my life but nothing ever seems to work with me. so when I was 14 and started getting severe stomach pains we went straight to the doctors to find out that I have under active thyroids. We thought after my levo-thyroxine was sorted I would be able to loose weight easier. However I am now 20 and gained 4 and a 1/2 stone since I was 14 and I'm severely depressed. I am now being tested for PCOS and everything that seems to be happening to me is making me feel worst. I've never had a period and the threat of being infertile is also making me worst. I just want to be able to successfully loose weight and feel normal.

I don't know what levo thyroxine and all that means but I'm trying to get slimmer as well and have researched quite a bit so I can give you some tips Smile Try if they make any difference at all ^^

Drink a full glass of water as soon as you wake up after you brush your teeth and stuff.

Drink sips of water every now and again, never drink a lot of water at once because your body can't digest water all at once so some of it will stay in your body and you'll appear bloated.

Drink warm water or soup before dinner. It helps to make you feel fuller before you actually eat anything. Don't drink cold stuff during or right after you just ate something that has a lot of oils or fat in it because it will solidify the oils and fats making them harder to be digested.

Eat slowly, don't rush. It takes approx 15 mins for your brain to get the message that you are full so if you eat really fast, you are eating more extra food that you don't need.

Workout - Do a different exercise each day, it would be the best if you can do at least 3/4 different exercise in the week. So, Monday could be running, Tuesday could be stretching and sit-ups, Wednesday could be skipping, Thursday could cycling. then continue for the rest of the days in the week.

Make sure that your work-outs last at least 30 mins each time. If you think you can't do that long, then start at 15 mins. It doesn't have to be a really intense work out. The most important thing is the constant work-out. You are not getting rid of the actual fat your body until after at least 30 mins of working out. Anything before that is just temporary.

When you walk, try to walk slightly faster with big steps. This will help slim thighs.

When you exercise by walking the stairs. Walk up the stairs like normal, don't run or jog up. When you come down the stairs, walk down quickly.

Try to limit what you eat. Beware of the calories. If you want a yummy snack, try to compare which has lower calories. Even though they both are probably going to have high calories but at least you aren't taking in as much.

If you're a lazy person like me and just like to watch TV all day, get up once in a while to stretch and exercise. Even if it's just 5 mins.

Eat more fruits but don't JUST eat fruits in your diet. Very unhealthy and it could really mess up your metabolism.

Eat a big breakfast, then as the day go on, eat less and less. So eat a big breakfast, then eat a normal lunch, then for dinner, eat very little.

Try to finish your dinner before 7 and don't eat after that. If you need to stay up late, for example til 1 and you know you'll be REALLY hungry at around 11/12. Eat a few crackers at 9. You'll still feel a bit empty by the time you have to sleep but you won't be so hungry to the point that you just really need to eat to fall asleep. So try to sleep before you get too hungry.

That's all I can think of now, oh and try to get enough sleep to get a better metabolism. Smile

Hope this helped ^^
