I went into the doctors for a pap smear and to have a pregnancy test done. They did a urine pregnancy test and came back negative. They also had me do a blood test which I have not received the results for yet. Now I just got my pap smear results back and im trying to understand it. Hi, and thanks for your medical question on eHealth forum!

I am sorry for the late reply. The HCG results vary with the weeks of gestation or the pregnancy weeks. Usually the labs report the range for the weeks of gestation, and the value of your blood HCG levels. Then the doctor compares your result with the normal range for your weeks of gestation to know whether the levels are high enough for pregnancy to continue forward. Hope this helps. If in doubt, please discuss with your gynecologist. Take care!
