did the mother die? was there a reason it
was taken away so early? I dont know the
exact chances of survival but i have seen
at Wal-mart or places like that they sell
special things for young puppies, like
milk substitute and other things, do you
have anything like that?
how healthy is he right now? have you
taken him to a vet? i suggest you do that
very often

Whoa! Yes, I would definitly go to a vet
for the pup to see if there is some sort
of replacement. At that age up to 6-8
weeks they need there mom to keep them
warm, and to feed them. I know that they
do sell puppy formula at the pet store,
but if I was you I would call or visit a
vet ASAP. OR if the puppies mom is alive
bring it back to its mom its only for 6-8
weeks and then you will forsure have a
healthy pup.. Good luck. Sounds like
you're working really hard. Please keep us
updated. What did you name your puppy?

How old is your puppy? What kind of puppy
is he? Is he acting sick? As long as he
is eating and drinking - I think he will
be just fine. If he is five weeks old or
older he will be just fine.

Is he a week old? Do not give him
regular milk. I always thought that is
what you should give them, and my vet told
me that was the worst thing you can give
them. It causes diarrhea, and therefore
they become dehyrdrated, and they are not
retaining any nutrients that they could
from the pet forumla. We have raised,
cats, dogs, and a baby deer. The proper
formula and feeding material is the key.
If he is only a week old he can't eat or
drink, he will need a bottle with a
feeding tube, a bottle nipple will not
work. Good Luck - he is very special to
have you taking care of him.

you can get milk subsitute at an y pet
store. dont worry his chances are as good
as with any other puppy--perhaps better
cause you are his mommy---he will love you
more. you can get a puppy nipple at any
pet store as well.
ive raised several animals on bottles and
all survived into happy healthy adults.
keep us updated---and send us
pictures!!!!!!

OK OK OK
First i wanna thank everyone for all the
advice!!! I took him to the vet and he was
fine i went and got puppy formula and they
gave him a shot to keep him hydrated! out
my poor puppy! well hes a trooper! his
name is Simba and he is a baby pit bull
red nose...well we were doing great! until
my BFF babysat him while i was at work and
he fell off her bed and he fell head 1st
so i took him to the doctor and he was ok
and later that night he stopped breathing
i flipped cause i picked up his head and
it fell right down my heart CRIED!!!! i
took him to the animal 911 and his
breathing was at 78% when it shud have
been at 100% they kept him over night and
had him in an incubator i cud not stand it
i cried and cried and cried!!! it was
horrible i was falling apart and i picked
him up the next day and he was a lot
better they gave me medine and he needed
collostrom or something the mothers milk
has and he had a bruised lung from the
fall and that is healing now but its a
little painfull for him and he is getting
his teeth now and he is healthy and out of
danger!!! thank god! well he is so alive
and happy and he finally opened his
eyes!!! it took a while! but yes all
better! and he came from a litter of 6 but
his mom was eating her puppys and
rejecting them so i took him i knew i was
gonna care for him a lot better than the
owner because he didnt care to who he was
giving them away and was carrying them in
his pockets! so i took my baby! and he is
well well heres a picture.
Everyone meet simba! i hope the link
works!!!

OH, Fairy*Godmother is in love with SIMBA!
I am so happy he has you for a Mommy. You
have done an excellent job. I WOULD NOT
leave him at your BFF's house ever again.
I wish i lived close so I could Fairy God
sit him for you! His pics are adorable. I
have raised so many little newborn cats
and dogs. As long as he is getting the
supplement/nutrients from the puppy
formula he should be growing and doing
well. You might could start him off on
Gerbers Baby Foor (Beef) stage 1. Thats
what I put mine on at 6 weeks, along with
the formula. As soon as those choppers
come in its Purina Puppy Chow! Don't let
those others fool you in to IAMS, Hills,
Science Diet..........read the side of the
bag that list the ingredients.....as long
as the label says it meets or exceeds the
AFFCO standards, its a creditable dog
food! I was always a Purina FGM....and am
to htis day! Please keep us posted on
Simba! You have made my day! HUGS!
