I have a pimple like looking structure down there and I don't know what it is. It hurts when I try to itch it. Could it be herpes? I've had cold sores in the past and I haven't had sex before but my partner did go down there once (orally) and he's cold sore free as we're aware. What could it be? I haven't shaved recently so it's not ingrown hairs..

Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum,
It is difficult to comment on the pimple resembling lesion that you describe without examining it. If it has been persistent (been there for more than 3-5 days) or if the symptoms are getting worse, you should consider visiting your doctor/gynecologist for further examination and assistance. Get started on treatment as indicated. If infective cause is detected, get your partner also treated simultaneously to prevent chances of re-infection. Avoid vaginal douching, use of harsh soap or perfumes or chemicals in the area. Use loose cotton undergarments and avoid use of tight fitting clothes. Consider being in regular monitoring and follow-up with your treating doctor/gynecologist and report any new/abnormal symptoms immediately. Drink plenty of water. Take adequate rest. Maintain healthy diet.
Take care.
