Hi i'm 19 years old and I'm not on birthcontrol. I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend numerous times but i've never gotten pregnant. This month I was supposed to begin my period on the 18th instead I began on the 16th. I wasn't really worried cause I had only gotten a light pink spotting however; after that I did not get my period instead I got a dark brown discharge until the 19th. Now I haven't gotten anything at all, could i be pregnant? I am having a little cramping but I normally get really bad cramps.

Thanks !

Hello and welcome to eHealth forum!

Take a pregnancy test and see since the periods you had were much lighter. If this is negative, then go for a blood pregnancy test as this is more reliable.

If this is negative then other causes of delayed or missed periods will have to be looked at such as stress whether emotional or physical, hypothyroidism, polycystic disease of the ovary, pituitary tumors secreting prolactin, anemia and poor diet, hormonal imbalance, unexplained or sudden weight gain or weight loss.

Please consult your gynecologist regarding this as a confirmed diagnosis is not possible on net. Hope this helps. Take care!
