I'm 48 years old 6'5 inches tall, 320lbs. I have a few medical problems. Diabetes, nueropathy, broken feet, and chest pain.
I went in the hospital 3 weeks ago. I was experiencing chest pains. I thought that was it. The pain was tightness in the chest, and in my arms. I stayed in the hospital for 8 days. The doctors gave me stress test, x-rays, ultra sound. But everything came back fine. My heart was in great shape. They can't figure it out. Blood pressure, cholesterol, everything was fine.
Well again today. I was taken by ambulance to the hospital for chest pain again. Every test came back showing nothing. When the pain starts, I get a feeling something isn't right. Then I get pain in my chest and arms. I begin to shake. And this goes on for hours. This was the worst. The doctor at the hospital, told me. They can't figure it out. I shouldn't rely on this nitro spray a doctor gave me last time. I'm suppose to ride it out at home. I don't have to come back in. I have no answers! And It scares me. Especially my little girls. My daughter heard a siren. She ran to the principle's office. So she could call to see if I'm OK. Has anyone experienced something similar. Thanks.. Joe
My wife has a condition called MVP or Mitral Valve Prolapse which is a small leak in one of the valves in your heart. It is something that can cause pain similar to a heart attack or heart palpitations. The only way to get diagnosed with this without having a camera run to your heart, is to be connected to an ECG when the flareup occurs. She has a flareup sometimes as often as twice a week but other times she can go a couple of months without one. Hopefully this information can help you a little or at least give you another option to ask your dr about next time you see him/her.
