Hello,

Welcome to the ehealthforum and I am really glad to help you out. I sincerely hope that helps. MVP or mitral valve prolapse is a benign condition and is not to be worried about.

This is quite common in the general population. Majority of the people remain asymptomatic throughout their lives even after having this condition.

A large number of people actually never come to know throughout their lives that they are suffering from this condition. Only in a small number of people there’s actually a significant murmur associated with this condition.

Getting an echo done once every 2-3 years is sufficient to assess the significance of the MVP. Pl do consult a cardiologist for the same. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
