I got a tight jaw and I can pop my ears. The dentist suggested me to get night guard. But I went to another dentist to ask about the night guard. This guy told me that my teethes are crooked and I should get a brace first then night guard. Should I just get a night guard? Because my tight jaw bothers me a lot on my school life.Help!

Defeke,

Since a night dental appliance (night guard) is a lot cheaper than having braces, you might want to get a guard and see if it takes care of your problem well enough for you to get by in school.

If the guard doesn't work, or you feel your teeth are significantly crooked, and would like to have them straightened, then have the braces put on. But, braces are a big investment, not only in money, but in time and effort.

Good luck.

Thanks, I just went to ENT yesterday, and he said I got TMJ. I think I would like to try night guard first. Like @Gaelic said, the brace is very expensive
