so i havent cut in like 19months and i was doing really good. i still got the urges but i never fell in. i tried all kinds of alternatives and even though they never satisfied me they were enough.i cut today. i thought about it and i knew i would mess up everything but i did it and i loved it. it made me happy and gave me releif. i was once again reminded why i did but i dont want to be dependant on it like i was before so what do i do?

it's hard
i haven't been cutting for very long, but i know how easy it is to become dependant on it. good job with 19 months, i couldn't last that long. its hard. i think if you're really serious about quitting you should talk to a doctor, if you want to keep it personal, try thinking posavtive. i know its not easy, i'm trying to quit and i give in easily. But as long as your determined, you can do anything, have faith in yourself and you'll get through this.

First of all, 19 months, congrats!!

But please dont let them hard 19 months be for nothing, as easy as it may be to fall back into a cycle of self-harm, if you stopped once you can stop again.
I have no expierance of this as i never went through it myself, but i have heard of people putting an elastic band around thier wrist and every time they felt like cutting, they just ping the elastic band, and ran up and down on stairs for example, to take their minds off it.

I really hope you realise YOU ARE BETTER THAN THIS, and you CAN overcome it.

Best wishes!
