I Always Have Dry Skin? Any Suggestions to Make It Stop
Posted: 09-24-05 15:38pm

Hi

i have a skin problem
every day when I wake up, or take a shower. I have very dry skin on my chest and stomach area.

I then put cream by the company lush that has natural products and is aimed for dry sensitive skin. The dryness goes away, but at the end of the day my skin is very dry, itchy and very rouch. I also get red spotches on the right side of my chest because of the dryness.

I was wondering if you can suggest how to make my dry skin get better? Any creams, any vitamins. Any suggestions will be great.

I am thinking that I might have diabeties because of my dry skin, since it is a symptom. I think I might have eczema.

Please help

I have a similar problem and have recently begun taking flax oil (or flax seed oil) pills. You can find them at any health food store or gnc. Flax oil is a natural omega 3 that lowers cholesterol, prevents heart attacks, and improves skin problems (especially dry skin). My skin has been much improved since I started taking it a week and a half ago.

Good luck!

That's weird. Most of my dry skin is either on my face or legs.

Try using a non-fragrance, non-soap moisturizer. I've changed to dove for sensitive skin, and you won't believe how it saved my skin. My skin never breaks out anymore, and my skin on my legs look better.

Vitamins for healthy skin are vitamin c, e, a, k , a b complex and fish oil (omega 3).

A good topical for dry skin is emu oil, it contains:

vitamin e an anti oxidant and healing agent

vitamin a a known skin repairer

terpines an antiseptic

sapogens skin softener

oleic acid a skin cell regenerator and preserver

it forms a protective barrier on the skin to prevent additional moisture less, I put it all over my body and my skin feels as smooth as a baby's bottom and looks very healthy, amazing stuff.

1st thing is is that you might talk to your dr if is that serious, whaat I used to do if I was still having that problem is to take some baby oil baths which seemed to help.
Good luck!

I looked up the information on lush, and saw in their ingredients listing that they include "perfume" in their products. Perfume or fragrance refers to a chemically created fragrance, and is most often the source of irritation when someone says "i tried xyz product and am allergic to it..." so....This "natural" product might be doing you more harm than good!

Also, I was just recently told that the hotter the shower you take, the more likely you are to have dry and itchy skin, so maybe lowering the temperature of your shower would help? (if that's an issue)

just some thoughts...
