Q: hysterectomy during menstruation?

i am due to have a total abdominal hysterectomy in a few weeks. i have long, heavy, irregular periods due to fibroids. i am worried that i may be menstruating when my hysterectomy is due to happen, would i still be able to have it done?

They did mine when I was having my period...Now I find that they usually don't do this...I would check with your physician to see what he/she has to say about this...Good luck...You will feel wonderful when it is over...
