Q: Hysterectomy after c-section ?

I am pregnant with my 3rd child and don't want anymore after this one. I have heard that the best thing to do is to get a complete hysterectomy when they do my c-section.

I am just worried because i have heard a lot of complaints about this. I dont want to put my marraige in strain because of loss os sexual drive or extreme mood swings. Is a hysterectomy the right thing to do or is there another permanent solution?

Please assist!

Other than having your tubes tied, I am not familiar with any other procedure..This, too, has been known to fail...What about your husband having a vasectomy?...With this you really don't have any pregnancy worries...We had this done after our third child when I was 28 years old...I would not recommend a Hysterectomy unless you consider this your last option...If you opted for this, you would be keeping your ovaries and there shouldn't be a loss of sexual drive...I had everything taken out when I was 48, and never lost mine...As far as mood swings, I think we women go in and out of them half of the time...I believe these are more prevalent with your period...I guess I have no excuse for mine.. This is pretty much a decision between you, your husband and your OB-GYN...Congratulations on the baby and I wish you well... ...

DON'T DO IT! You will lose your sexuality and all pelvic support for your abdominal organs.

Please go to the HERS Foundation for more information. Doctors will typically not inform you of what you will suffer if they amputate your uterus.
