Hi Everyone,

I'm in my mid 20s and I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism at age 11 and I've been taking levothyroxine since. I've been thinking a lot about fertility and I know people with hypothyroidism have difficulty conceiving and I am very much worried about my own chances and what my options are in the future. I don't exactly remember my first menstruation but I believe it did happen when I was 14 and then I didn't get it again. The doctors put me on some sort of estrogen-based medication for a few days to see if it would trigger me to menstruate, and it did. Since then, they've put me on birth control and I've been on that, as well as my levo since. I know that I need to see an endocrine specialist, as the one I had before in my early days is no longer around, but I'm too scared to hear them say anything about me being infertile or something of the like. If there is any advice or just some insight into this to ease my mind a bit and be aware of my options for my future, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you!
