Hi everybody,
I'm new here and I have a question for all and especially for Stan.
A little about me: I've been hypothyroid since 1992. Since I've always had a wide range of debillitating symptoms but never hypoglycemia. This, for me, started seemingly out of the blue about 3 months ago. I just went from a person who could eat absolutely anything (used to love dark chocolate) to one that couldn't eat any amount of simple carbs without having an attack. At first, I thought that it would pass, that it was related to my thyroid hormone levels (there's evidence to support that thyroid problems can result in hypoglycemia). So I cut all simple carbs out and ate mostly protein and very little complex carb-diet. Oh, and did I mention that I absolutely can not have fruits - any kind without having a night attack and feeling horrible for days afterwards. So the new diet seemed to work well until I decided to eat a tiny piece of apple (Stan has it in his diet). That was the sickest I got since my symptoms begun! I couldn't sleep all night, had ongoing panic attacks, severe tachycardia (and I'm used to it), 5or 6 bowel movements that night, muscle twitching, numbness, the worst nausea ever, shaking, headache, dizziness....I haven't felt that bad in a long time. Now, 2 days later I'm still feeling awful. To be continued...
