Q: Hypoglcemia and glucose tolerance test

How many of you have had the glucose tolerance test? My glucose and insulin both rose, then the glucose plummeted(?) to the 50s. I'm just curious if anyone had their insulin levels checked along with glucose, and what your results were.

That test really needs to be updated. My father's levels didn't drop until he was into the sixth hour of his glucose tolerance test, and I had the same result along with my brother. I come from a line of hypoglycemics. My results ended up in the 50s and even dipped into the 40s. I was experiencing horrible anxiety and convulsions, so after not eating for 18 hours before and during the test really showed the lab's staff how bad I really could get. I really hate that test. I wish there were an easier way for people to find out their levels. Best of luck to you! Stay healthy!
