I hyperextended my foot with a lot of downward force through it, i was jumping to the side of a wall.
I heard a crack...instant pain and numbness, it was very painful to weight bear.

I was taken to hospital where they diagnosed a broken sesamoid.

Over the next few days i was totally non-weightbearing but my swelling came out at the top of my foot...
I had no pain under my big toe, or around the ball of my foot..so i took myself back to hospital.

I had a 2nd x-ray...which they confirmed that i had a sesamoid break but it was old and that the pain i was experiencing was probably soft tissue and sent me on my way.

My injury happened on the 10th january, it is now feb 26th and my pain hasnt really diminished.
I tried jumping off my foot (accidentally) about 2 weeks ago, to reach a pullup bar that was a bit out of my reach and i was in agony it felt like i had done the injury all over again. The top of my foot, and inner middle side are very painful, its a very deep pain and i would swear its a break...but x-rays say not.

I cant jump off this foot and i have been weightbearing somewhat for the last couple of weeks, i cant run or jog on it.
I am a pretty serious athlete, and im waiting for my specialist appointment but this isnt for another MONTH. It is uncomfortable all the time, though not very painful. I am totally fed up.

Has anyone had an injury/symptoms like this?

Im worried because it hasnt seemed to have healed on its own but theres no way i can return to my sport (mostly stunting and gymnastics) when i cant even put downwards pressure through it.

Hyperextended foot, top part of foot
So what happened to your foot? Have you had a full recovery? How long did it take?
