I have been sexually active for about seven months, and it still hurts right at the back of my vaginal opening when I have sex. I bled a tiny bit the third or fourth time we had sex, but never any before or after that. There is a, I guess I would call it a membrane where it hurts after sex and I think it's my hymen. Is it possible that it would still be completely in tact? And if so, is there anything I can do to break it so sex doesn't continue to be slightly painful afterwards?

There are women, myself included, with exceptionally stubborn and thick hymens. I got mine surgically "altered" to allow for less painful sex. I don't recommend you try breaking yours on your own, but your GYN can. It is a painless (with the exception of the local anesthetic)procedure and there is little downtime/recovery. The only thing that sucks is waiting 2 weeks before having sex to allow healing.

How much would a procedure like that cost? I'm still a student and don't have a lot of extra money...

It is a small surgical procedure under local anesthetic. Does your student services not have a clinic?

When you went through puberty the hymen thickened, pulled back to the vaginal entrance rim and became elastic. Normal sexual activity and masturbation with toys will wear it away eventually unless it is particularly prominent.
