hi, I'm a virgin and I have been masturbating for about 4 months now using water spray. I'm afraid that I might have broken my hymen because I think I over masturbated. about an hour after masturbation I went to the bathroom and found a faint blood stain on my underwear. so do you think i broke my hymen and how do i tell if i did???

Welcome to the ehealthforum and I am glad to help you out.

There’s a possibility of the rupture of the hymen with masturbation and especially if it’s done a little vigorously.


Moreover, with girls being involved in lots of sports activities, the chances of the rupture of the hymen are quite high. The physical examination is the only way to confirm the state of the hymen but, unfortunately, it’s not recommended in virgins as it can unnecessarily introduce infection.


Please don’t be worried even if it’s ruptured as the rupture is quite common even without being involved in sexual intercourse. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
