Hi,

I am 22 and female. I found a lump on my groin a few months ago. I thought it was an ingrown hair or something, so I ignored it. But it didn't go away and seemed to get bigger, so I went to see my gynecologist. He said it was an enlarged lymph node. He thought it was an infection initially, so he observed it over the last 6 weeks. It has gotten bigger (I'd say it's about the size of a walnut now). It is generally painless, unless it gets irritated by chafing from my underwear. He diagnosed it as a hydradenoma. I haven't been able to find any information on hydradenomas online, and would really appreciate it if someone could explain it to me. My gyno was like, "it's a tumor, but not really a tumor, it's like a pimple, it's like an infected lymph node, i mean it's probably an infected. it's probably benign." uh, what?

This morning I went to my dentist for a routine cleaning, and he found what he believes is a papilloma on my gum.

Could these two tumors be related? Should I be concerned that I have cancer? And can anyone please explain to me what a hydradenoma is?
