I am married to a [mentally] damaged man.
my name is mb, a friend from facebook recconmended this as he is mental health pro. . I am 17+ years into this and really think I want out.He is jealous of anything I'm interested in [reading, tv, computer, drawing] if I suggest we do something he refuses [ dinner out, movie, help him in the yard,go with him on a job to assist]. I do not have friend "friends" who I do things with, or even ones I call much. I have always been happy alone or with others [NOT family:thats a different alone] I do not require much for entertainment.
I want him to see a dr. he has refused since he was accepted on SS disablity in 95.
He insists it is myself or my daughters who are the ill ones-not him.
I really don't want to go thru a divorce again-- the last one we agreed to split and it still was hard. He swears it isn't over- I need to go get looked at- not him.

Greetings,
Before l start contributing to the forum,l would like to introduce myself as well as what my interests are.
I am a 55 year old male 5ft 10inches tall and wiegh at 17 stone. No excuse on my siade to gaining the extra weight, because it is due to a lack of concern[but l am working on it].
I am married with no children[this was our choice] and have been married now for 24 years. We had a lot of disagreements and problems in our marriage, but we manage to pull it through by talking with each other and finding the reasons behind these disputes and then solve them right there and then.l live in in Turkey now right on the Aegean coastline in a village called Akbuk on the SW coast of the country.l also have a lovely placid spaniel dog we have saved from the horrors of being a stray,so now the dog is now living a life of a king.
My strong interests are to take care of the animals and the nature around us,because l look at the world as our home as the same as our home we live in day in day out.The house l live in here in Akbuk is only one minute from the sea front with all the amenities to make the life a little more pleasant to enjoy.
My beliefs are :if we take care of nature, then nature has the wonderful ability to take care of us.But unfortunately there are those that do exploit nature for selfish gains without taking into consideration of the shear hard work the enviourmentalists are doing. My other belief is a religion of true love,if we all have the same thinking to respect one another through the working of achieving a love to strengthen a society that bonds with effection, then l strongly believe wars and conflicts will not exsist no longer, including the enviourmental cotratophies that occurr due to mans selfishness.
My occupation used to be a self-employed landscape gardener back in the south east of England. But because of the continuoous cost of living was beyond my exspectations to achieve a quality of life,l had to pack it in and find a another life to rest my creaking weery bones and muscles.l have back problems and my feet do get sore if l stand for long periods of time.So this one of the resons why l left England to have more time to myself to rest and play in my own time.Unfortunately things did not work out, from what l was promised by an estate agent here. But that’s another story.
The reason why l took an interests to this forum is because it seems l can relate to many here that have similar problems what l am going through.l also would like to talk to others when l am feeling down and need someone there that can probably give me arrurance to the situation.
Also l tend to wffle on and on.So if you do think l am a bore or anythin else that you would consider is trivial verbal. Then please by all means tell me.l will not take any offence to a response towrds me.After all,one learns by responding by what the other persons is thinking.
Well l think that’s about it

Good for you for getting out of the Rat Race and even better for caring for the environment and the animals and birds in it. At least you have the sun and friendly people around you, hope that makes life a little easier for you and your family.

Hello, I'm new at this but I think this should be helpful to me. I love doing yard work of course I use to enjoy it more until my leg's starting hurting. I can't do as much and I HATE it. I take lyrica for pain and have gained 30lbs. in 2 in a half years, and can't remember anything anymore. So I have decided to stop taking it and try to lose so weight and try to find something else that will help. I have tried to take other medicine but it does not help like this lycia does. Somethings has t be done because my legs hurt so bad. I have also had mri's, leg vein test, everything is fine. I hope my dr. can find me something, i think she does not want to put me on something that i might get hooked on. but i'm 51yrs old, give me a break. i thought i might find someone else that had this problem.

Hi, debal. I'm so sorry that we missed seeing you tucked away in this area. This post was not supposed to receive responses and I will lock it right after responding to you. New members should create their own original posts. It will give them practice and it will put them up front for everyone to see.
As for your problems, pain management is a huge issue. I have been taking hydrocodone for a few months now and am very careful about using it as little as possible. But if nothing else gives you relief, push for a stronger medicine. Good luck with finding a suitable medicationan and once again, I am so sorry that we missed you.
