Hi. I've recently made a new friend who spends alot of time down my house. (its nothing romantic or anything like that so no comments please XD).

She has diabeties, I'm not sure what type as she dosent like to tlak about it. I'm just concerned incase something happens while I'm with her and was wondering if someone could give me some point to look for, things to becareful of and what to do in certain situations.

Thank you in advance.

You would need to be aware of what to do if her blood sugar would go low. Hopefully she always carries a source of glucose with her. Usually the symptoms of low blood glucose include: paleness, shakiness, hunger, confusion, drowsiness. In the case of a low, she would need an immediate source of sugar: orange juice, soda, life savers, etc. I would check out online more info so you can be prepared. I would try to talk to her about it, since it is only for her safety that you'd be aware. My 9 year old son has diabetes and I'm teaching him that someone around him always needs to know in case anything happens.
