How many times can I take out NuvaRing?

I just started using NuvaRing this past month and my boyfriend and I have been experiencing some discomfort during sex. Lately I've been taking it out before sex and putting it back in, always within three hours, and our discomfort is gone. I know that it's supposed to be okay to take it out during sex as long as it's out for less than three hours, but I was wondering whether there was a limit to how many times I can take it out. Occasionally my boyfriend and I will have sex several times a day when we are feeling a little extra frisky. Is it alright to take it out more than once a day?

I try to be really really careful about things like this. Even though I'm using birth control we still try to use spermicide, but sometimes we don't. I just want to make sure all my bases are covered.
