Third Trimester of Pregnancy Answer A18014
Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum.
Normal pregnancy lasts 40 weeks. A pregnancy going on for more than 40 weeks is termed as post dated pregnancy. It can go upto 42 weeks beyond which, baby should be taken out either by induction of labor pains or by cesarean depending on the condition of the baby. Visit your gynecologist/obstetrician for a thorough check along with tests to look for fetal well being and rule out fetal distress. Discuss about induction of labor.
Take care.
