I have been on femcone fe for the past 10 months i take all of my active pills faithfully, I have been in a 5 year relationship so I am not worried about std's we have both been tested. When we would have sex before we would use a condom to be sure but this month we has sex 3 times without any thing but the birth control pill. I dont think im pregnant i just started my brown pills and i havent started yet in femomcon you have seven days of brown pills and im just on day two but i dont feel comfortable what should i do how effective is femcon fe and should we be using a alternative method or is the birthcontrol the best method out their

birth control is very effective especially if like you said you take it everyday at the same time..you really don't NEED the condom but it definitely doesn't hurt to use it if youre REALLY REALLY not wanting a pregnancy..however when used alone birth control is 99% effective IF taken religiously

not at all. If you are taking a combined oral contraceptive pill (NOT progestin only) then as long as you don't take it more than 12 hours late you are protected. With progestin only pills, it is essential that you take it in the same 3 hour time frame.
So taking it even as early as 6 AM the next morning would not compromise its effectiveness, but taking it at the same time gets you in a good habit of always taking it.

I'm fairly certain you have nothing to be worried about as far as pregnancy goes.

yes- as long as you have been taking all your pills correctly you are equally protected every single day of the month (unless you are just starting pills for the first time)
this is because hormone levels stay relatively the same the entire month. only after more than 7 days without ingesting hormones can the levels drop enough to possibly cause you to ovulate.

otherwise you have enough hormones the entire month, and when starting a new pack, to theoretically prevent pregnancy.

yes, my pills are 7 days too. many are. any time OVER seven days becomes a problem, so if you miss the first pill or take it WAY late, then you may compromise your protection.

ALL pills are designed to protect you all day every day of the month IF taken properly. If they did not always protect you, then I'm sure there would be MANY warnings about when you cannot have sex.
The work by suppressing ovulation, and since your hormone levels only begin to drop far enough to ovulate AFTER and only AFTER 7 days, you are therefor protected every day of the month.

All you have to do is take one pill a day, every day, and you will be protected (as long as you do not vomit, have severe diarrhea, or take contradicting medications)
This makes your chance of pregnancy VERY VERY VERY slim (less than 1%).
Hope this helps, I know sometimes some reassurance is necessary.
