hello,my grandma stopped smoking in 3 days naturally.I AM serious! YOU shouldn't use anything like nicorette gum or patches they make you more addicted, try eating regular gum it helps and do some fun things to keep it off your mind.Breathing excersises are also great and try limiting caffeine products because they usually make you want to smoke more... drink water or juice. I know its hard and can be very frustrating ,stay determined , i was sucking my thumb for 6 years i was obsessed and i eventually stopped!ps.GOOD LUCK!

Use strong gum like cinnamin. That worked for me. That and drinking a lot of water. My friend used a prescription...Chantix or something like that and she quit faster than I did.

I found 2 books really helped me: Allen Carr''s EasyWay and a new book called Positively Quit. Today''s my 20th day off cigs and I feel great! Didn''t think I''d make it this far.
Take the plunge soon - You can do it too

Get a script for Chantix and just deal with the side effects. I am convinced these uncomfortable side effects are part of the reason this stuff works. I quit smoking using Chantix about 9 months ago and to this day still associate smoking with feeling violently ill (side effect I experienced). I have known 3 other people who quit using this product. Many people seem to complain about Chantix but personally I think they are making a mountain out of a mole hill because they really don't want to quit smoking and are trying to pass the blame.

It is not a joke to smoking all of a sudden, sometimes there will be some side effects.Rather than stopping suddenly one can try using e-cigarettes.

Craig man, nicotine patches and mints work wonders and the fact that you actually WANT to quit makes this 75% easy.

And keep in mind that even for those who don't want to quit, quitting is much simpler than popular opinion and media would suggest.

I dropped the habit for six months once and got by the first couple of weeks by playing Jedi mind tricks with myself. For instance, I kept going to my thinking/smoking spot but instead of a cig I'd stand or sit out there and chew mentholated gum for five minutes and then come back inside. Just going through that same routine and doing something other than smoking tricked the mind into feeling like it had just gone out for a smoke.

Hey you might find it hard to quit with withdrawal symptoms so it would be best to take some sort of quitting aid to reduce the symptoms...some common aids are nicotine gum or patches...or you could ask a doctor for medicine which is designed to reduce withdrawal symptoms...

I was a cigarette addict for almost two years. Sounds too short, but in those years in every week I smoke 3 to 4 packs of cigarettes plus the extra cigarettes I buy and get from my friends (approximately 2-3 packs). means I smoke 5 - 7 packs a week. there were no days without cigarettes. After two years or so, I get tired of it, sick of it, but I cant stop. Every time I smoke the taste of the nicotine is becoming "eeww" taste (too much and cant take anymore), but still cant stop. Then, I came back here in the United States and I'm glad because here I know I can stop this madness because I am a minor, cant buy, and no money. But too bad because my sister is a smoker here too. Everyday I tried to stop. Until one day I had enough. I completely stop smoking. I stop myself asking for cigarettes. From then until now, I am no more a smoker. There are times I tried again thinking of what may happen. But I just cant go back anymore. I was like a starter/beginner (cant inhale the smoke). I didn’t use any method (like reducing the take) or any gum/patch. It just came to me that day and I stopped. I said to myself "you will stop". I hope this would help.

First of all good decision to say no smoking. To quit smoking instantly is not that easy because you become addicted to it, so instead try e-cigarettes for few days or try eating some chew-gums,this would keep you busy and will help to leave cigarettes.

All of these may or may not be the best answer for you. Some people would have you not use an NRT and try to scare you out of it - Beware, this is unsound advice if an NRT is the only way you can quit smoking.

It's the smoke itself that kills and causes disease, not nicotine.

The truth is nicotine does not kill, cause heart or lung disease. Nicotine by itself only has the same health risks associated with it as caffeine. Caffeine and nicotine are both mild central nervous system stimulants and vascular constrictors or vasoconstriction -they can cause narrowing of blood vessels which can contribute to higher blood pressure) If you don't have high blood pressure you have little to fear from normal nicotine intake. You already smoke, and most likely drink coffee, so you will know if Nicotine Replacement Therapies can hurt you or not.

What you need to do is find a method that works for you and satisfies your cravings long enough for your body to detox and for the psychological aspect of smoking to get out of your system. Anyway you can do this, is The Right Way to Quit For You.

The main thing is to stop inhaling The Smoke. You may have to try a bunch of different methods before you find the one that's right for you. Keep trying them and don't give up. I smoked for 22 years and nothing worked for me. My salvation came in the form of an Electronic Cigarette. This worked for me because it helped me get the nicotine I wanted without all the harmful effects of cigarette smoke. I have been smoke free for over a year with no desire to light up. My doctor is delighted and says my body and lungs are healing just like that of someone who quit cold turkey. Electronic cigarettes may not be right for you, but you get my point - find what works for you.. what you can live with, and stick to it as long as it keeps you from inhaling smoke. Everyone is different. Everyone needs to find what works best for them. Best of luck to you !
