I am so frustrated. I was sent for a OGTT yesterday and on my paper it said 2-5 hour Glucose Tolerance Test and all the other info about fasting, etc. Well, when I got to the hospital and registered the person told me, we don't do the 5 hour test anymore, we only do a 2 hour test so they took a blood sample, gave me the glucose drink and then told me to come back in two hours and took a sample and then I was sent home. I am assuming that the only purpose that they use GTTs at my hospital is to help diagnose diabetes. I haven't gotten my results but I know what is going to happen.

I will get a call from my doctor's receptionist saying, "Your blood work all came back normal. Have a nice day" and that will be the end of it. I wasn't experiencing any symptoms at the time that I had my blood drawn. What a waste of time.

So now do I give up on the failed health care system and diagnose myself and begin my own treatment via information from books and the internet? Ahhhh!!!!!!
