Hot Hand's, Hot Feet...

WOW! I'm not crazy or as my wife would say "a freak of nature"… I am a 48 year old male and since about the age of 16 I have episodes of hot hands and feet. Back when I was younger the sensation was so intense that I would have to do things like put my feet and hands in ice water, stand in the snow, sleep with my feet out a window (this might not sound bad, but it was in Northern Canada in the winter) or drive with my hands out the window (again in Northern Canada, and don't worry I always had one hand on the wheel ). These were all temporary solutions to the intermittent problem. When you touch my hands and feet when this is happening they are not hot to touch, but I've been told that I make a great human hot water bottle. I've spoken to a number of doctors about this and they don't seem that concerned, nor do they give advice or solutions. I have no real heath issues and I'm fit and active, however this might sound very strange but I have extremely bad cracked heals (sounds gross, sorry about that), I'm not sure if this is part of the hot sensation or not??? Any comments on that?? The reason for writing this post right now 10/14/2011 I'm sitting in my office with my shoes off and a fan blowing full blast on my hands, it was on my feet for the past hour but I thought I would mix it up a bit :)

So in the end my thoughts on this are simple and I'm not really that worried.

Down Side: ridiculously hot hands and feet at times and nowhere to cool them off; when I do have a place to cool them it might seem or look silly - such as right now in my office; complaints to my wife as to how hot I'm feeling; having the window wide open - which means freezing my wife when were in bed (thank goodness for down duvets).

Up Side: I make a great human water bottle; don't have to spend crazy amounts of cash buying thermal rated boots and gloves; don't have to worry about my feet freezing when I'm skiing; don't need to buy expensive sleeping bags for winter camping and I'm sure there is more.
