I have been suffering from hot flashes for a few years now. I am 54. Haven't had a period for at least 2 years. Have tried just about every natural 'hot flash' remedy out there with no success. Decided to see a holistic practitioner about a year ago. She prescribed BI-EST 1 MG/PROG 100 MG/0.4ML Cream 1 ML. I apply it twice a day. I still get approximately 15 hot flashes a day. I wouldn't mind if I just got hot, but I turn a bright red and sweat profusely. So embarrassing. Not sure if I should go back to see her in June or seek other treatment. I am at my wits end.

Hello,

Welcome to ehealthforum and thanks for writing

You seem to be suffering from post menopausal symptoms and hot flashes is a quite common symptom. It is due to sudden decline in the hormones as compared to the reproductive cycle.

Some changes you can do as:

1)Herbal teas as black cohosh helps in combating hot flashes.
2)Do some form of exercise daily even a daily walk is fine.
3)Have low fat diet and opt for fresh fruits, veggies, salads etc.
4)Avoid smoking, alcohol and excess caffeine use.

These days medications as C ionodine are available which is prescribed for hot flashes.Kindly visit a Gynaecologist and discuss regarding its use.

Take care!
