Hi

I am 21 years old and always suffer from hot flushes. One minute I'm fine the next minute I'm ripping off my jacket because I feel like I'm about to pass out from my body's temperature! My mum jokes about being menopausal, obviously I am not, I'm only 21. My periods are painful, but regular (before I got the Implanon). Is it possible that I just might start menopause earlier than teh average '50' years old?

thanks

It is very unlikely that you will experience menopause at 21!!

It is normally a sign of a hormone imbalance. Hot flushes is also a rare side effect from Implanton. I think you should talk to your doctor about it.

I am dealing with hotflashes as well. Im also 21, and Im on my period right now, but I never get hotflashes like these. Its winter time here in Canada and I find myself in shorts and a tank top most of the time because it is so unbarable. Sometimes I'll be sitting watching tv and all of a sudden I will start to sweat like crazy for no reason! I even have my windows open even tho its below 0 here. It might be a hormonal imbalance because I'm on my period but I find it weird that I've never had them this bad and so often before. Has this happened to anyone? Im sure it isnt anything too serious, but I'll definitely get it checked out.' )
