I've had what you would call either a hot flash/night sweat (singluar) a couple of times during the past few years right at the begining of my menstural cycle. I wake up with my heart pounding and drenched in sweat. I'm a young, healthy 22 year old and I'm not sure if this is a concern or not. I've heard that decreased estrogen levels cause it. Could that be it?

My thyroid levels and a complete blood count have been done by my health care provider and everything looks normal in that respect. The reasons the tests were done was because I have a very irregular period with a lot of random bleeding.

Should I be concerned about these occasional hot flashes?
Thanks.
